If you are getting "hooks" in the corners of your mats (not clean 90° corners) Diagram #2 is probably the reason. Do not dispair Diagram #3 is the solution.

1. With the tip of the blade touching the start reference line pivot the blade into the matboard making sure the base of the Model 45 remains motionless.

2. When entering your blade into the matboard DO NOT push the pivoting head of the Model 45 straight down.

3. DO push the Model 45 head into the matboard at the same angle that it cuts, 45°.
