If you need to cut a border from 1/8" to 1-3/8", (1/8" to 1-1/2" on the 4505 Mat Cutting System), use the following method.

1. Set the dimensioning system at 2" and cut a strip of matboard 2" wide. (A bevel on one edge of the strip will be okay.)

2. Turn the 2" strip around so that the side with the bevel is against the "Stops" on the base under the Cutting Guide.

3. Set the Cutting Guide to your desired border dimension plus 2". In the above example the border that is going to be cut is 3/4", so when using the 2" strip set the Cutting Guide at 2-3/4".

4. With the left edge of the 2" strip against the stops on the base of the system and your matboard against the right edge of the 2" strip, design and cut your mat.
